Every year on 21 June, the whole world stops to think about ALS on Global ALS Day. A day on which the world’s attention is drawn to this pitiless disease and its impact on people with ALS and their loved ones. Every year, we too make a commitment to raise awareness among the widest possible audience of the challenges that people with ALS face on a daily basis.
On Friday 19 June, the day before Global ALS Day, we are joining forces for ‘The Way to A Cure for ALS’. For the fourth year running, we are literally setting off with an entire group (pALS, families, friends, volunteers, researchers and the ALS League) towards a solution for ALS.
Together, we will walk side by side from the ALS League’s national secretariat to the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research, located on the UZ Leuven Gasthuisberg site. A symbolic journey of over 3 kilometres. With this action, we’re sending out a strong message: the fight against ALS continues unabated. Because it is only by working together – people with ALS, researchers and all those who support our mission – that we will be able to beat ALS and build a future without this disease.
Would you like to join us and light up the streets of Leuven with hope and awareness? Sign up at events@als.be. Indicate the number of people who want to take part and the first and last names of each participant.
