“Recent evolutions within the Centre of Medical Expertise”

The doctor started with a brief explanation of the tasks of the Centre and a list of requests and financial interventions a person with a disability can contact their services for.

He explicitly mentioned that the ‘application on records’ is still possible. ALS-patients remain priority files. It’s true that the Ministerial Decree that settled this procedure, has been abrogated but it has been made possible again immediately through Internal Notes. Doctor Jenet once more stresses the importance of submitting the most complete file.

In a second part he talked about the projects: digitization of files, ensure the quality of the files, new application forms where a greater participation of the patient is foreseen, the expansion of Handiweb to be able to retrieve information from the internet, attention for the education of the evaluating doctors, developing a ‘manual’ self-reliance. The session was closed with a brief question and answer session.
